:help: I have a 77 20r with points trying to hook-up 22r electric dizzy I have the dizzy and the ignitor from the 22r and a msd coil. on the car I have a Single wire that goes to the positve side of the coil,
a Single wire that goes to the negitive side of the coil,
and a single wire that is switched with the key. Not sure where they hook to the new msd blaster coil and 22r ignitor.
The ignitor has a green round plug with 2 wires one yellow and one Tan or light color,
the other plug has one black wire,
the last plug goes to the coil have those wires isolated don't know what wire goes to postitve side of the coil or the negitive side.
not sure how to hook it all up very confused

okay the black single wire goes to the tach, the other two should go from the msd to the magnetic timing wheel in the distributor(tells when to fire) looks like a diamond kind of. the msd coil should hook up to that part (last msd box I put in was in GM and it just fried 4 HEI coils wouldn't recomend them without the MSD coil)

msd replaces the ignitor that is why the timing wheel has to hook in to the msd, all msd boxes are made up of is capacitors to step up the voltage and them dump the voltage through the coil to the distrubtor at the right time, if your going to run this get the msd coil for it to it fried all the stock hei coils in the chevy we put it on, until you have that coil our really going to fry coils

okay, I got it all hooked up. I am using the ignitor off of a 87 toyota pick up and the MSD coil.
My problem now is that the car is studdering, I have gone through the timing, and have that set up but now I think that the valves are messed up.

with the old dizzy it jerked but not as bad... today I got it to the compression stroke and busted out the timing light.... Run a lot better still jerks but not as bad.. runs better than the old dizzy too... Oh I also got my exhuast on too. sounds so sweet.
