87 cab on 83 frame??

ok hopefully on monday i am going to get a 83 toyota that has been rolled, the a pillars are crushed and the window is busted, im sure i could fix it to were i can put a windshield in it, but i have a 87x cab 4x4 that i hopefully can just swap the cab onto the 83 chassi nothing has to look real good its just a crawler so can this be done and how hard will it be. thanks in advance for ur help

ya u can do it. build some new body mounts most likely since its xcab.

I have an 87 2x4 cab on my 83 4x4 frame. The body mounts were off only by an inch or a little less. I just cut off the cups that the body mounts ride in on the frame. Then welded plate on top of them. Got my cab where I wanted it. Then drilled new holes through the plates using the origional holes in the cab.

Do you have the driveshaft from the XTRA Cab? I'll buy it if it's a 1 piece.
