Hey guys I just got a lift put on my 92 and now when Im stopped at a red light, stop sign or anything and I accelerate from the stop, I fell a slight bump kinda like what an auto tranny feels like when its shifting from gear to gear. I was thinking this has something to do with the driveshaft and the angle that the lift put it at....its a two piece driveshaft. The tranny is auto and I dont think its the tranny bec it shifts fine through the gears. Again this only happens when Im completely stopped and then take off :help:

You said you had it installed!! How big a lift? I would get under there and check that everything is tight.I remember my truck did the same thing. If it is an IFS frount end. When I did mine I had trouble with the hangers for the front Diff coming loose, I bought new bolts and lock nuts and that sovled the problem. I hope this helps

Its just a 4 inch lift. Does the truck need to be running but in nuetral to check and see if everything tight or what? I have checked when the truck was just sitting there turned off and everything looked and felt fine...nothing loose. How hard would it be to change the two shaft thing into one driveshaft like most?

I don't know if a single shaft would work. The angle might be too much for the u-joints.If you have done everything you can think of , take it back to the shop that put on the lift , and have them check it out.
Got to go back to work. Hope you find the problem

check ur ubolts to see if they are tight. check ur driveshaft for slack or maybe ur 3rd members might have slack in the ring gear pinion gear.

i bet it's a combination between the block lift in the rear (if that's what you got) and your drive shaft being on too much of an angle. you say it's only when you accelerate, you probally get axle wrap on take off which puts your pinion up in the air then you u-joints on your drive line can't handle the angle and it pops. just what i think but there's allot of ways to fix that

either way i'd take it back to the shop and make them figure it out

I didnt think about that axle wrap, but ive heard of that problem with lift blocks. If I was to put some lifted springs and take away the blocks would that help? I was saving up (im always broke) for some lifted springs anyway because I dont want to offroad with the blocks in the rear. How do all yall set up your driveshafts bec. most if not all of yall have bigger lifts than what I got?
