K&N ???

IS there any type of K&N that will fit the stock Carb on my '84 pickup that isn't the same as the stock filter

There is a K&N that is the same shape and size as the stock filter and goes in the stock air cleaner housing. You looking for an open air cleaner that goes on the stock carb?

if you want an open element filter, this is what we did for my friend's truck. take the bottom half of the stock air cleaner housing and chop the sides off with a grinder so all you have is the bottom. put in a filter of your choice and put the top back on. about to do the same for mine.
