hi, was reading your forum all last night, really nice stuff. so i decided to add some of my own to your collection.

ok, i totaled my sr5 pickup about a year ago and have been hanging on to whats left of it for while. basicly its a frame with wheels and most of a cab, no front clip, no engie, no bed, no bumpers. now my question is, should i go for the 5.0 engine swap(freinds a mustang head and has a couple nice engines for me) with a flat bed, or should i just junk it. I really dont want to have to junk it cause the frame is rust free, and that is something you dont see in minnesota. any input on what to do? id also like to cut the roof into a ragtop but dont know how to get the window seals to work.

one more thing, anyone know what to do with a 4runner with a new v6, and manual everything from canada that has no title?

ooooo i just thought of something while i was reading over my post, turn the pickup into a hauler for the 4runner with no title, then i dont need a title for that truck cause it will be trail only...... do they require titles for trail riding? :help:

how did you aquire the 4-runner with no title?
with the sr5 I would check if the frame is bent first, if not I would do an exo-cage and have the front of the cage as your fenders, with the 5.0 eng.
that swap is pricy but if the engine is free why not.

The pick up probably wouldn't make much of a hauler even with a V-8. Too light, and too short of wheelbase. Why doesn't the 4-Runner have a title? I am not sure about how it works in Canada but there may be a way you can file for a lost title and get a new title for it.

On that title question: If you were ever pulled over by a prick type of cop (not all cops are pricks), he could really give you a hard time and possibly confiscate the truck, "pending proof of ownership". If you were planning to keep the truck, why not attempt to contact the previous owner and get a title? Otherwise, I would make a "Road Warrior" out of it. Just chop it up and drive the hell out of it! :redspotda

i got the 4runner from a impound yard but now i cant get ahold of the guy who sold it to me, im thinking of going to the dmv and say the truck has been abandoned on my property for 3 months with no owner in sight and try to force transfer it to my name. would the sr5 pickup be a good trail truck? its kinda long 128 inch wheel base and all, i guess i could turn it into a light duty offroad truck.

I don't know what state you live in, but I do a lot of buying, selling and trading of vehicles here in Arizona, and if I had a truck from Canada, the only way I could get a title is by "Bonded Title". I do abandoned titles too, but only if the vehicle was registered in the U.S. A "Bonded Title" costs about $50.00. I've had to do a few bonded titles on cars I got from Mexico.

the sr5 is a 92. i live in minnesota. ill have to check with the dmv i guess to see what i can do about getting a title for the truck, cause it does have a new engine in it and i could get about 180k out of that v6 before it blows up.

My '84 is 116" and I can go everywhere my friend's Jeep CJ5 goes. A CJ5 wheel base is about 84". My '84 has a straight axle and I've taken it on some moderate+ trails. It's lifted and big tires, axles are stock. I haven't had a chance to try my '86 yet. It's IFS. As soon as I get the new engine in and CV's replaced, I'm going to try it on the hardest trail I ever took my '84 on. If you go to my website and click on the Trail Dusters' logo, it will take you to the Trail Dusters' web page. There is some pictures there of some trails we've done recently.
