I have heard that a Toy v6 diff. is difficult if not impossible to weld correctly cause of the design. But the 4cyl can be done. I have welded a Isuzu third and it is basically the same idea for all diffs. It should be welded where the side gears meet the spider gears. weld them as solid as you can then weld as much as possible of the side gears and spider gears to the case. A good preheat on the case will insure a good weld since it is cast iron. Also a lot of people add a piece of plate in the void between the gears and weld it solid. I didn't but I probably will next time I weld up a diff.
use a 220 welder and get good penetration. also dont overheat the metal it will crack since its cast and what not.
3 welds in each corner and there are 4 corners on each side of the carrier.
do one weld and then flip it over and do another and let cool for a half hour or so the longer the better.
then do the other corners and what not and get 3 good welds on each corner of the side gear and u can also weld it to the carrier if you need to for strength.

I do like is listed above, but then i also add 2 extra spider gears in the large openings and weld those in place. It just lets you add more weld.
more metal and more weld = stronger now doubt. just make sure you let it cool first and then try to clean up the platter on the gears or put a wet cloth on the gears so they dont get as much welding splatter.

They also sell a gel that keeps the slag from sticking. Put some in the splines of the carrier. Mine got a couple spots on it and made it a pain in the arse to put shafts back in.

Clean the third, stuff wet rag's in the spline's,down by the pinion and drap one over the ring gear, the gel would work also.Protect everything and weld the corner's of the spider's flip and do the same.On mine I added a piece of 3/8ths plate in between the spider's,resting on the pin and welded all the way around both side's.When done clean the third again to make sure all the slag/spatter is out.

This guy added a flat peace of metal over the spider gears after welding it and welded it closed.
holy overkill batman.
but whatever i havent done it that way but if that works use it.
