:help: I have a 87 putting in a straight axle.When lining up the frnt diff with transfer case so the drive shaft runs straight my frnt spring hangers don't line up with the frame tried evening them up then frnt diff is out of alinement,can drive shaft run out of alinement "side to side".What will it hurt if my spring hanger are off,I have a solid piece of metal I'am weilding to

for starters yes u can run a driveshaft off center. in fact im almost sure a ifs and straight axle are different by 1.5 inches.
and 2nd why are your leafsprings not lineing up.
you need to line your crossmember with your shackles hangers so you axle sits even under you frame
who did the sas for you ????????
did u fab ur stuff or buy a kit ?????????

:grin: Thanks for the info,I can line the shackles to the crossmember but when I did this the drive shaft was off center wasn't sure if I could run the drive shaft offcenter "GOOD CALL it is just about 1.5" to the right side of truck "

i didnt call it. a front toy straight axle is exactly 3 inches narrow than ifs front ends.
hence 1.5 inches on each side which makes sense why ur DS is off 1.5 inches.
