allright ive got a 1990 22re and it chews up exhaust manifold gaskets (3 in a year) and the lock nuts keep backing off of the studs in the center of the manifold and then it blows out #4 on the back side so i put another new one on it yesterday and put massive amounts of loctite on the studs and locknuts and ran a small bead of high temp silicone around the edges of the new gasket and i dont think it will hurt it cause the exhaust shop used it where my pipe and manifold bolt up along with new gaskets and i watched him do it and i havent had any problems with it yet and its benn awhile but my ? is has any one else had this problem and how did you fix it and no im not gonna get a bigger hammer cause thats a ford thing

Never had that prob on any of my 'Yotas ('83 p/u,'87 4-run,'88 p/u), but how about safety wire? I've never had that come loose.

i would try different nuts. i used red rtv on both sides of my gasket and torqued it to factory specs, i also used a nw offroad gasket. never had a leak
