I just purchasedan 85 toyota. I want 35" tires but drive on the highway more than city driving> what I am woundering is what gearing would good. or should I just stick with 33" tires.

33"--->4.88:1
35"--->5.29:1
These give the closest to stock ratios and are a rule of thumb with a 22r or 22re. Of course alot of people run tires without regearing and don't complain.

i have 4:88 and 34 inch ltb swampers and i really like them for highway and city and i have a 91 22re pick up

............Of course alot of people run tires without regearing and don't complain. Or drive steep grades or wheel :eek: I agree 5.29s for 35s and 4.88s for 33s. My daily driven 85' has 35s and 5.29s and does ok (it'll never be fast :rolleyes: )..........Hans

I have 4:10's with 31's and mine is S-L-O-W. I think people get used to driving with too high of gears so they don't realize what the advantage of going to lower gears would be.
