ok every body this saturday i get a shipment from marlin that turns my stock 4runner into one hell of a bitchen ride!(the people at marlin are way cool) part of it is dual cases, but ive got a few questions conserning drivelines, i have one extra front 85 driveline with the CV ive heard when you run dual cases you can simply put the front drive line in the rear with out modifieing it? is that true? also i am in salt lake city and DTOY recomended that i should go to a drive line shop called Gaylon's in Lehi, any other good places or should stick with this place?

Yeah Gaylon's is really good, he's got a good rep down here is Utah county. SIx STATES off of 800 north in orem has a great driveline guy, very familiar with toy rear drivelines. I spoke with him briefly about dropping my two piece rear and going one piece. He quoted $325 for one using chev joints and tube diameter but that would bolt up to my t-case and third member. Haven't had him do it yet though so no personal experience with his final product.

i used my front ifs cv and a chevy driveline to my dana axles and then had them shorten it and modify it at driveshafts of utah and it was 120 bucks.

had slyco do my front for 170 and put 20 inches of slip in it and used a 85 front cv and then supplied the rest.

Not really. To use a DS w/a double Cardan (CV) joint you have to point the pinion up at the t-case, which means a lot of shims or cut off and reweld the spring perches. The stock rear DS doesn't have a CV joint, so the pinion is in the same plane as the t-case, horizontal to the ground.

i've heard the sixstates in slc sux, but the one off 800 north in orem does great work. Jeremy, the driveline guy does really good work.

ya in order to use a rear cv/ double cardon u need to cut your perches on the rear axle and point the pinion at the tcase.

the head mechanic at gaylans in lehi is my uncle his name is john and his name is in gaylans will, so it's basically his shop he is the best driveline guy around take it to him he soes good work, or you could just make your own then have some d-line place balance it, i shortened my own up at ktoys house last saturday it took about an hour really easy all you need is a chop saw a welder and a peice of medal to sleeve your existing d-line

sounds cool does this work well?

also i got the "trail flex kit" from marlin and it comes with new spring perches so i might as well point my rear drive line at my t-case and put a CV in there, plus isnt this a better way of doing it?

from what ive heard here i think ill probably end up going to gaylons it sounds like a way cool shop and ive heard its fairly cheap, whats the address in lehi?
