Hey all,
Need some advice and experiance on this one. Engine light came on, so i got autozone to read the code. They said EGR valve. I called toyota and they said that there is a few different things that can cause an EGR system code that autozones generic computers cant differentiate between. He said toyota's computer can see exactly what component is causeing the error. The truck runs very ruff after it warms up at idel rpm, but fine at anything above about 2000 rpm. That sounds very EGR valve to me. I checked the vacume lines as best i could and it didnt look like anything was leaky but who knows. So is it worth paying the $85 bucks for toyota to plug their computer into my truck or should i just say to heck with it and start replacing parts myself? Any obvious things i could/should do or check myself first? As always thanks in advance for the advice!
