So i just got done rebuilding my 22re, and it is all put back together, cranking over and everything, except no gas! Thinkin it is something electrical, pump isn't sending anything. All the fuel systems worked beforehand so figure i am missing something or just hooked something up wrong. . .I know this is pretty vauge, but any suggestions or anyone else ever have this problem? Thanks for any help!
fuel filter on backwards... pretty common.
gas tank has rust or something.
also check your fuses.

Ok, pretty sure fuel filter is on right, thin skinny side connects to the line from the tank, fat side, or side with the lip on it connects to the line to the injectors. . .right? Also, i have a fuse that keeps blowing right away on the kick board, drivers side, first row, center fuse (15 amp). Not sure if this is related, but i have no power at the fuel pump and none going to the injectors as well. . .

that 15amp fuse thats blowing is your fuel pump rely, no fuse... no fuel pump... no gas, umm lets see here, usually it sounds like a ground problem or somthing related, check all wiring all the way to the fuel pump see if that corrects anything, if not id try a 30 amp fuse...

Ok, think i might have it figured out, i took a ton of ground wires out when i pulled the engine to rebuild it. They ran strait from the engine to the body, but i don't remember how many there were or where they go. . .anyone got the chance this could be it? If so, can anyone see how many grounds they have on their 22RE that come striat off the engine to the body and where they are at. . .? Sounds like it might be a simple fix. . .yeah said that before. . .

fist off i just looked at mine to be sure and the smaller end is injectors and the big end=tank. on the grounds there are a few. 1 from the valve cover to the firewall, 2 the intake in the middle there is one that comes out of the wire harrness hooks to one of the studs, 3 there is one that comes off were the dip stick tube and the p/s pump bolt to the side of the head. there some times is one that goes from the batt. to engine block (-) and also to the inner fender next to the bat. now don't put a bigger fuse in the one you have is blowing for a reason don't take the chance of burning sosmething out or worse a fire....check all the wires it there is one for an injector grounding out that could be the problem. what condition are the connectors in were they hook upto the injc.?? if they are broke then the little pain in the @$$ metel peice could be the problem. that is just my .02 hope it helps.

Thanks, I'll double check the fuel filter, then go and search for all those grounds. Know for sure i never took one from the batter straight to the engine off, but will make sure i have the rest. if i am missing them, what gauge should i use to replace them? Thanks again, you guys are a HUGE help!

that sorta happened to me but it was a big 80 amp black fuse on the passenger side of the engine compartment, if it ends up not being a ground you could try that.

when it comes to a ground the bigger the better IMO. they run on the small size, how ever they are there you will just need to find them. the only one that comes all the way off and is not hooked to anything else is the valve cover to firewall.

So about the blown fuse and those freakin clips. . .whats that about? I know i hated takin those clips off from the fuel injectors, can they cause this problem? Some of the plastic is broken off, could the metal touching cause the short? If so, how do i fix it?

if you are blowing a fuse and the injectors are not working then i would check there first. you should be able to see them all with out removing the top half of the intake. if the wires are junk i am sure there are some pig tails in the local p/p. wish i could be more help good luck. pm me if you have anymore questions. will try to help.
