ok..... i am think about three different tires for my DD. the radial baja claws, the radial TSL's and the goodyear MT/R's which do you think will give me the best all around performance.... i will be doing rocks, mud, some sand, and combos ( muddyrocks, wet sand etc.). i will mostly be driving around town, with the ocasional 3-4 hour freeway trip. Give me your opinion about each, and if you've had experience with any, let me know how you like them
thanks

I have see claws in action, I was not impressed. They look cool, but did not seem to work well on a muddy trail. Radial TSL's will likely wear fast. I have ridden in many a rig with bias ply swampers and they are loud as hell, I am sure the radials are just as loud.
I would recomend either the MTR's or BFG mud terrains. I have a friend with MTR's and he said he will never buy another set of swampers. I have seen someone get almost 60,000 miles out of some BFg mud's, mostly highway/freeway driving when not off road.
x2 mtrs are a great tire.
so are bfg A/T and bfg M/t's

3rd for BFG KM's even though not a choice.
i've had TSL radials lasted decent for a swamper 25K...
SSR is a little better lasting about 30K
MTR's don't like muddy trails (in my experience)
Claws run small so you'd have to buy a 35 to get a 33. but they are decent tires.
my mtrs did awsome in snow and mud. my bfg krawlers did shit in snow and mud.
just my .02

ktoy: I'm suprised to hear that about your krawlers in the mud. I've seen them beat out boggers lately in mud comps around here.
If they came in 33's i'd buy a set for next toy build but the 35's are bigger than my 36" TSL's.
ya not much luck in utah mud and snow. dont get me wrong i still could climb rocks with the best of them.
maybe it was my air pressure. i ran them at less than 10 usually around 6-8 psi.
mtrs i ran at 4psi
my iroks i have now that i have used once ir un at 4 to break them in.

i got mtrs and they suck in the snow but they grab rocks well, not like iroks but for a good all around tire that lasts a long time they are worth it
but i do want to know what kind of 37 in tire i could run that does good in snow, mud and rocks besides mtr's
any ideas?
bfg mud terrains is your best bet if mtrs dont do it for ya in the snow.

i think i 'll probabley go with MTr's they look like a good tire and they wear pretty good.... anybody think i could get 50k out of um? my only concern, is that they'll clog up with mud and dirt when i go wheeling and it's a little damp... o well, i got a couple months to decide, but thanks for the imput guys

bfg M/T's will get a lot of miles. bfg A/T's will get 50k no problem.

bfg a/t's? Those are good street tires but not good for much else. I'd go KM's over MT/R's... but i don't live out west.
i loved my krawlers. if they made them in a 42 or bigger at a reasonable price i would buy another set.
but for 70 % street driveing i would have to say a bit cheaper tire. my krawlers did great on the road and what not. they didnt wear bad at all.
but 370 a tire is a bit pricey compared to 180 for a mtr.

Hi i'm new around here but would figure I'd give my $.02
I've got the bias ply swampers and I hate them for regular driving. they do awsome in the mud but that's all I can say good bout them. they have a real bad shake when driving over 40 and they don't last for $h*t. maybe the smaler swamper bias ply might not shake as much 31" or 33" but I'm not impressed with mine
