Hey, I have an 88' that I rolled that I use as a parts truck, and I wanted to swap parts into my 86' but found out that a lot of the electrical parts were different. My 88' was not equipped with an O2 sensor in the manifold (like my 86), there was one located before the catalletic converter and one after the cat. They have 4 wires and a plug connected to them. The 86' manifolds have a SINGLE wire O2 sensor that in in the cast iron manifold that plugs into the O2 plug right by the coil and ignitor. Anyways, I think that you have an 86' manifold on an 88'. I think whoever had it before you put an 86' manifold on it and there was no need for that O2 sensor to be there so he just left it there. Check to see if the one on your manifold only has 1 wire, if it does, it is not the same manifold that came on the truck origionally. If you have those other 2 O2 sensors (with 4 wires) than everything should be fine. Does the check engine light come on ever?

it has 1 wire. the check engine light does come on after about 5 mins of driving and stays on until u shut off the truck and turn it back on but after a few mins it comes back on.
