I've been off roading my highly modified Tundra for some time and about to look into my next project. I want a cruiser, owned a FJ-40 for many years and liked it, but the later cruisers would have more room and comfort. So, what is the last year for the straight axle, don't think I would consider an IFS, and other than the lockers, were there any desirable options. I have found two 96's one with 104K, the other with 120K in KY for around 13-14K. The lower mileage truck has electric lockers and is blue in color and stock.
Ultimately I'd like to have it lifted, ARB front bumper, home-made rear, snorkle, supercharger or turbo, 35's, rack, and well...
96 is the last year that i know of ... thats what johnnys is that owns this site at the top of the page.

97 was the last year in the USofA.
Look around, There are plenty to be had, I bought mine in Louisville KY about 2 years ago, It had 99K on it.
Have a look here...

Appreciate the post. I looked at Slee in the past, missed the buyer's guide! I have found several more, one down around $7,000. Maybe I'll pick up one sometime before spring. Still have some work to do the Tundy.
