Over the last few four wheeling trips I soon discovered that the stock Toyota motor mounts could not handle the torque my crawler was putting on them. One after the other I was going through motor mounts one after the other.  I did the research and this is what our options are.  Keep in mind, the prices are for my 81 Toyota truck but probably should not vary to drastically in different years.

Option A:  Buy new motor mounts from Toyota at $70-80 each (ouch!)

Option B: Buy LC Engineerings complete metal motor mounts. A great solution,       you might encounter a little metal to frame noise.  Price $110 a pair.

Option C: Buy replacement motor mounts and go through them like butter. $20-30 each.

Option D: (this worked for me) I bought replacement mounts from www.Carparts.com and chained them up.   Whats a chain?  Chaining up your motor mounts consists of getting some chain from your local hardware store and rapping the chain through your mount and around the frame and bolting it together.  This way you get the benefits of the bushing (for noise) and yet a limiting strap to prevent over extending.

So far so good, plenty of hardcore trails and no breakage, keep the fingers crossed!
