As always being in search of yet more & more cheap and easy horsepower mods for my 22RE engine, I found a couple more items worth mentioning.   Easy to install and not that hard on the wallet, here are some easy modifications I found that increased the power of my 22re! 

 

PACESETTER 22RE HEADER KIT  from SUMMIT RACING -  Cost $148

                        One complete kit!  Summit had this 22RE header kit to me within three days of ordering!  it came complete with all gaskets, hardware, and down pipe with o2 sensor mount! Very impressive kit and easy 45 minute install.   I topped it off with SUMMIT's $15 turbo muffler (I like the quiet turbo mufflers for being on the trail all day) and new free flow cat off of E-BAY and some 2 1/4" exhaust the whole way back, and the runner can breath a little better now!!!!  Well worth the $.

                        And yet a little shopping on EBAY once again yielded a great buy on one of the best ignition systems out there!  More spark, better running, better fuel economy, and great reliability.  JACOBS is the way to go!  Don't forget to open that spark plug gap to .048 !!!!! 

 

ENGINEBUILDER CAM - $100

                        After talking with "ENGNBLDR" from Ebay, I decided to try one of his low range cam's for the 22RE.  Great easy install that took little time.  The cam is not that harsh that new valves and springs needed to be utilized and the idle is still smooth.  A great way to go!
