Installing different front shock mounts will enable you to use longer shocks which means better articulation.

For about $15-20 a side, one can purchase Ford Truck Shock mounts and replace the Toyota mounts to give you an extra 4.5 inch's of shock.  Now, there's a cheap trick!!

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

Grinder
Sawsall or torch
Drill with 1/2 drill bit
(6) Grade 8 1/2" bolts, washers and lock nuts
Welder (not necessary but recommended
Two Ford Shock Mounts (part # E5TZ18183A)

    First Step:

Take off the wheels in the front and remove the shocks on both sides.

    Step Two:

Take your torch, Sawzall or other cutting device and remove the stock Toyota shock mounts.  Don't cut or torch into the frame though.

    Step Three:

Grind the surface smooth with your grinder.  Wear those safety goggles and don't nick those brake lines!!!

    Step Four:

Clamp the new Ford mount to the frame. Align the mount in spec with the lower shock mount is on your front axle.  Make sure your shock will line up properly.

    Step Five:

Weld the mounts into place.  Grind any of the ugly weld away, Unless you like that look!!!

    Step Six:

Once your done welding, break out the drill and drill three holes thru the mount and frame.  The bolt hole's should be in a pyramid fashion, one on top, two on the  bottom.  Install the washer's on the bolts and crank down with the lock nuts...

   Step Seven:

Go buy some new longer shocks and put em on!!!

Was that too painfull?  Hope not....
